Trump’s Immigration Policy Scaring Indian Start Ups to Canada

Computer Scientist Indians are now moving to Canada, where it is easier than America to obtain a permanent residency status. They found that the H-1B visa does not guarantee US citizenship to family members of the H-1B visa holder. With an obscure future in the US, there has been a decline in Indian students enrolling in US colleges and increase in US based Indians returning home.

Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has implemented a “Global Skills Strategy” program where applicants in the tech industry are fast tracked to two weeks whereas in America it would take 6-7 months to approve the H-1B visas. This means there are more high skilled workers currently employed in Canada than the US.
