Workers Fired For Refusing Flu Shot

The Post Bulletin discloses the latest on a Minnesota health system company, Essentia Health that has let go of 50 employees because they did not want to get a flu shot. About 99% of the eligible employees received the shot and besides those who were pardoned, the rest were dismissed.

Essentia’s reasoning for the mandatory shots were for prevention methods to keep patients from getting sick in their hospitals and clinics.

Two unions are currently appealing to a judge for those who have lost their jobs but a federal judge has already denied the demand for a delay in policy.
